Ordinance Establishing Healthy Bluffdale Coalition
Strategic Plan
CTC Grant Info:
After successful completion of the Coalitions Lite grant, Healthy Bluffdale applied for and received a grant from the Salt Lake County Health Department to implement the Communities that Care Plus framework. This grant provides an opportunity for the coalition to work through an evidence based prevention system that reduces levels of youth problems and helps them thrive.
We will be able to employ a Social Development Strategy that “helps communities provide young people with opportunities, skills, and recognition”…that strengthens bonding with family, school and community. Strong bonds motivate people to adopt healthy standards for behavior.
Coalitions Lite (August 2023-June 2024)
Healthy Bluffdale successful completion of the Coalitions Lite framework resulted in Healthy Bluffdale’s Strategic Plan. This plan targets Mental Health as the communities number one priority, as the data shows that Bluffdale has higher rates of depression and ACE scores than Utah averages. The contributing factors found to affect lower mental health in our community include a lack of connection to family and community and a lack of connection and commitment to school. Healthy Bluffdale continues to work closely with the Salt Lake Health Department through a newly acquired grant to address these issues.
